I got a 2006 Toyota Corolla with almost 380k miles for free recently, an incredible gift, but I realized that the factory stereo it came with didn’t have bluetooth or an aux port. Music is a big part of my life as a music teacher in training, so I despaired being limited to just whatever was on the radio or discs I could find. I came up with the interim solution of buying blank discs, buying albums on my laptop, and burning the albums on the discs to play in my car, but that became a little expensive over time, and I was limited to just the small selection of albums I bought. I considered trying to get cheaper CDs online and searched my house for old CDs I had growing up, when I stumbled across a reddit thread that mentioned this site. I was skeptical at first that there could actually be this easy of a fix, but when I read the reviews, watched the videos, and GTA Car Kits very helpfully answered my questions via email, I thought I would give it a go. I ordered the aux kit and bought a couple things necessary to install the kit, and tried installing it today. It worked!! I plugged in my phone (aux cable to lightning adapter to stupid aux-less iPhone), pressed the disc button a couple times, remembered to turn up the volume, and voila! Full stereo sound coming from my car’s speakers! I had almost given up hope that there was a cheap option to get my music playing in my car, but this kit and GTA Car Kits really came through. Thank you!!

I’ve had the GTA car kit for several months now, and I absolutely love it! I was nervous about taking off the panels inside my car because I’m not a very tech-savvy girl, but the video guide helped tremendously! I didn’t have any trouble following it. I felt so accomplished when I finished installing it! It took a little while to install because I’m a perfectionist, but I would say if I did it again, it would probably take about 20-30 minutes. I was not familiar with all the tools, but it wasn’t too hard to find them at the local hardware store (I took in a sticky note with all the names of the tools and found a helpful Home Depot employee to guide me). Once installed, it worked like a charm! I have an iPod Classic and it synced up perfectly.
I had contacted GTA customer service because I wanted to know if the kit would work for my iPhone 5S. The customer service rep I worked with (Maurizio) was incredibly helpful and responded quickly. Although there isn’t a compatible cable offered directly through GTA car kits (due to certain patents), another one was recommended through Apple. Not wanting to spend more money on an Apple chord, I decided to try my luck with a simple MP3 auxiliary chord I had used in rental cars to hook up my phone. I was thrilled when I plugged it in and my phone played through my stereo’s system when I connected the chord to the GTA unit! I was so happy! Of course, my phone doesn’t charge from that cable and I can’t control the song selection from my stereo controls, but that didn’t matter to me. What mattered was that I could play Pandora on my iPhone 5S through the GTA kit out of my stereo for amazing sound! I was so happy!!
Using my iPod Classic and all the useful features the GTA car kit allows (controlling songs through my car’s stereo, charging my iPod, and selecting playlists) made my car rides much more enjoyable. And on top of that, if I want to listen to Pandora on my iPhone 5S, I can just plug in my simple, cheap auxiliary chord and listen to that as well.
More than all of this, I was most impressed by the quality of customer service I experienced from GTA. I sent a few emails inquiring about different things, and I was always answered promptly and courteously. The answers were clear and very helpful. It was such a relief to know that that provider of this kit cared so much about the user’s experience. It’s definitely a quality kit, very simple to install by watching the video, and it was incredibly reassuring to have customer service that is caring and quick. I would highly recommend this product to anyone interested in a very reasonably-priced kit and a cool and simple challenge of installing it yourself (and saving a lot of money and time at an auto shop).

The kit was easy to install (the video really helps, and the tools are mostly things you’d have around any basic toolbox anyway) and the system works great! I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to use the device as my corolla has a factory CD changer, but there was another (empty) port nearby and it works fine! The cables are long enough to thread the wires through the glove compartment and keep your iPhone/iPod out while driving. Very satisfied!

I purchased a Kit for my 2008 Corolla. The install video was a tremendous help. The thin audio/headphone jack cable is a bit weak and I’d recommend getting a better one for like 2-5$ at any electronic store. This product worked REALLY Good from day 1. I thought I had some audio issues at first and contacted them and they were willing to trade the item but turns out my phone was streaming bad audio since it was internet radio app. I tried using different apps and used it to stream music and voice calls.
Thanks Guys!

“I received my GTA car kit in the mail on Friday, and decided to try the installation on Saturday night. Thanks to the YouTube video, I knew exactly what tools I needed to have on hand — the magnet is priceless — and installation was ten times easier than I thought it would be. If I had a question (are there more clips to release?), I had the video handy to guide me through the install. I have an ’07 Corolla and and the kit works perfectly. I don’t know what’s more satisfying: driving into work listening to the tunes on my iPhone, or knowing I was able to do this myself for a fraction of what it would have cost to have a shop do it (or to by a new stereo).
Your webpage says girlfriends/wives might be impressed… but I think it’s time for an update. If a chick like me can handle this, the whole world should be impressed!
The product itself feels like a quality product; the ordering process was easy, shipping was fast. So far, I am a very happy customer & would recommend GTA Car Kits to anyone. Two thumbs up!
Time to hit the road…with tunes, of course!”

“I installed your kit in a 2008 Corolla today – zero problems and it works great!
Thanks for the installation videos, I never would have felt confident enough to do it myself otherwise.”

“I came accross your kit while browsing for an cd/mp3/ipod head unit for my wife’s car.
I absolutely hate static, and fm transmitters are the worst. My wife’s Corolla came with a 6 disk in dash tuner and your kit still works flawless for her.
Shipping was very Reasonable. A few days and i had it ready to install.
Installation was EXTREMELY EASY, getting the required tools from the garage (phillips screw driver, 10mm socket and magnet) as well as putting them away took no more than 20 minutes. Your youtube video was helpful, I watched it while my wife was on her 10 min drive home from work and i was done before she decided what she wanted for dinner.
We both use our iphone 4s. Cables are routed through the back of the upper dash compartment so the cable can be put out of site when not in the car. GTA Car Kit features that I like the most – ease of installation, how well it integrates the ipod and how easy it is to use.
GTA Car KIt provides excellent value. i already recommend these kits to my friends and ordered 2 more for my mother and mother in law.”

“There were other kits out there, but they all cost about the same (or more) and GTA’s kit had the installation video, which was quite useful. A quick check online didn’t yield any red flags that GTA was disreputable; being able to pay via PayPal helped.
Shipping was average. Since it was free, that’s perfectly acceptable.
The installation was very straightforward and took about 45 minutes, although I was very careful and took my time undoing the clips that held in the console and stereo. I did have to buy the tools mentioned in the video, but they aren’t unreasonable things to own and they aren’t expensive. Other than the telescoping magnet, I imagine many people would have or could borrow the required screwdriver, socket and ratchet.
The installation video was extremely helpful. Without it, I wouldn’t have been willing to disassemble my car’s center console and risk breaking something. It was clearly narrated and paced such that it was easy to follow.
I’m using a 6th generation iPod Nano. I routed the aux-in cable to the glove box, where I put the GTA adapter itself. I ran the 3.5mm headphone aux-in to the lower console where I can easily get at it from the driver’s seat (although I don’t expect to ever use it, I decided the time to run that cable was when I had the center console detached).
The best GTA Car Kit feature is its integration with the car’s existing stereo. The stock Toyota stereos are quality units that look like they belong — the backlighting and layout match the look and feel of the instrument cluster and the other controls. The primary alternative to an iPod adapter is an aftermarket stereo. After a few years of keeping an eye out I have yet to see one that doesn’t look gaudy and/or cheap (they all seem to have a horrible mash of colored LEDs and pointless animations).
It was not immediately clear to me that the adapter would work with the 6-disc CD changer that comes with some trim levels of Corolla, I had to Google a bit to assure myself that it would have the correct AUX input port. I’ve never really looked at the connections on the back of car stereos and wasn’t sure how standardized they tend to be.
The GTA Car Kit is well worth the money and I’d recommend it to anyone who’d like to retain the look of their factory stereo while adding the functionality of an iPod adapter. It’s also less expensive than most other Toyota iPod adapters or a quality replacement head unit.”

” It’s a terrific product. I intalled the GTA Car Kit on my 2008 Toyota Corolla and it works great, just as advertised.
The sound commimg from the car stereo is fantastic. The video guide that shows how to install the car kit was a big help. I would recommend this product no problem.”
